Document Summary
Aristotle on justice: justice depends on the context (relativism) The aim of politics is ethical to make people better: (statecraft=soulcraft) There is no specific formula for a just city. For each society, there can be a proper model. Just regime: the one that serves the interests of the whole community ( a good/natural partnership in which both sides gain) Unjust regime: the one that benefits the ruler at the expense of others ( a wicked/unnatural partnership where there is no mutual gain-i. e. exploitation) Just v. unjust are ranked: e. g worst regime: when a monarchy is corrupted- tyranny happens. They approach to the common good (mutual gain) closer than oligarchies. They can function in a decent fashion, even if not in the best way. Masses are not hopelessly incapable of governing. Middle glass is good: hardworking and productive;rational;not aggressive homogeneous (less divided by class conflict); balanced;stable.
