Went to duke law school (back then was not known as the elite duke it is now) War hero- american like to elect war heros. Handsome, suave, young, energetic, aura of optimism. Looking at resumes alone, nixon should have been elected. In the 60s people wanted a breath of fresh air, jfk was that fresh air. Jfk"s campaign, yeah the 50s were great but they made america soft and laid back. Wanted to bring a vigorous life to america.
