Th eatre: shakespeare said in hamlet that the theatre should be be and is like a mirror in which we look and see our vices and our virtues. But i would like a mirror with some magic properties where if we don"t like the image we can penetrate that mirror and transform it. The act of transforming, transforms she or he who acts. Th eatre: one of the things that gives meaning to our experience of theatre is the way that characters are coded , characters come to represent/ connote certain values/ qualities (ideologies) Ideology: the abstract social ideas, values, or belief systems that underpin our understanding of reality. Irretrievability of plot: written in verse, heroes accept their faith, modern tragedy, working class heroes, heroes victims of society, vernacular, don"t always accept their fate, in fact, sometime what is most tragic is the fighr they put up.
