Anslem -ontological argument- a being greater than which nothing can be conceived. Thomas aquinas- cosmological argument- movement in the universe must prove there is someone doing all of it. Augustine combined four virtues that were central greek philosophy. These consisted of wisdom, courage, temperance, and justice, along with three primary virtues of faith, hope, and love. The idea that theology is "faith seeking and understanding" can be seen in the early 5th century can be seen in. Anselm moved away from the principal of scriptural authority, asserting that faith itself has a kind of rationality. Anselm"s ontological argument tried to prove the existence of god. God as a "being greater than which nothing can be conceived. " Anselm"s main influence on theology lies in his contribution to christian atonement theory. This explained that by god becoming man, he rescued humanity from the power of the demonic.
