Justified/forced justified alignment- centered: center alignment tends to be weak. Repetition: repeat some aspect of the design throughout entire piece, unifies and strengthens entire. Type functions: 5 objectives, attract & hold the audience, be reader friendly, establish an information hierarchy. Font- a complete set of characters comprising one specific size. Stroke- any line which makes up part of a letter form. Ascender- the lowercase character stroke which extends above the x-height. Descender- the lowercase character stroke which extends below the baseline. Counter- the negative space which is fully or partially enclosed by a letterform. Serif- the short stroke extending off the main stroke of a letterform.
