Document Summary

There are 5 main types of blood vessels: carries blood from tissues to the heart veins, carries blood away from the heart arteries. Si: matthew landry mland84@lsu. edu: a small vein that collects blood from capillaries and delivers it to a vein. The ability of blood to flow through alternative routes to a body part through an anastomosis: some arteries do not form anastomoses and are instead called end arteries. Blood vessels tunics: both arteries and veins have three layers called tunics. The tunics surround the lumen, which is the open space through which blood flows. Ability of the artery to contract and maintain a state of partial contraction. Because they are going to regulate the amount of blood that goes into a capillary bed. The exchange of oxygen and co2: consists of only 2 layers, endothelium, basement membrane. When blood is received after it goes through the capillaries.
