Types of projections: planar/plane, conic, cylindrical, math/others. Mercator projection is the most common map projection. Wednesday 1/23: 1 in=one mile, 1 in=two miles, 1 in=4 miles, page= 128 miles. Boatright"s land: system used for the first 13 states, used latitude and longitude. Contour lines: line on map that connects points of equal elevation, contour interval.
