Tiktaalik" is the intermediate species between fish and tetrapod. Similar environmental factors select for similar structures in unrelated organisms. Birds and bugs are related in terms of having wings, but do not have a recent common ancestor (analogous structure) This is why analogous structures can be misleading. Another example: both mammals and birds both have 4 chamber hearts, but do no have a common ancestor, instead, they are analogous structures. Rudimentary form of an organ more fully formed in ancestor. Human examples: wisdom teeth, male nipples, darwin"s point-ear, body hair. Humans have the ability to sweat, but didn"t lose all body hair. Darwin"s point (ear) will be on the test: fossil record, comparative anatomy, developmental biology. Organisms use the same cycle to duplicate cells. Somewhere after the introduction of eukaryotes, dna replication started. Dna rna protein (highly conservative process) All the information of dna replication has been passed down from generation to generation (inheritance)
