Takes 2-3 weeks to establish a routine and comfort with breastfeeding. Prolactin- form pituitary gland to stimulate milk production. Milk production can be inhibited by stress, anxiety, fatigue. Recommended that mothers consume 330 extra calories per day for the first 6th months and then goes up to ~400 calories a day.
