Private ip: identifies a device on a private network, usually lan. Benefit of using private ip: protects against direct attack. Domain name: unique name affiliated that is linked to public ip address. One domain name can have a lot of ip addresses. Url uniform resource locater: internet address protocol, such as http:// 2. web server tier: how the page looks, layout. 3. database tier: all information is in the database, like inventory. Service oriented architecture: all interaction among computing devices are defined as services in a formal standard way. Browser, load balancer, then goes to correct server, then database balancer.
