Initial results of studies in terms of effects were disappointing. Patients improved on specific tasks, but not in general in terms of a cognitive domain or daily functioning. What is better today: tools allow for adaptive difficulty levels, thus challenge patient continuously, more intensive and extensive training: daily, 45min, several weeks, personal devices allow for training at home, better methodology in research and more critical reviews.
