DANCEST 805 Lecture Notes - Lecture 17: Shyness
Document Summary
Problems that might arise when working in teams: shyness when talking to unfamiliar people, making "small talk, putting personal ideas forward, being too bossy, not listening to others" views, being (appearing) aggressive, appearing "too serious" Looking bored: not turning up for meetings, not telling people why you didn"t turn up. Communities of practice: groups of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly. By working in a team, you will be able to develop your identity as an individual in terms of the role you assume with other team members. By understanding the needs of the individual one can help to create a healthy and efficient team, and often satisfy the person by allocating roles that not only suit their skill capacity but also their personality.
