Francis galton(1822-1911): searched evidence for argument that features were inherited(vererbt) -> ultimate goal was to show the heredity(vererbung) of human traits(in particular intelligence) Argued that human intellectual, moral and personality traits were transmitted from parents to offspring. Contemporaries were not impresses because they believed mental capacities were divine(g ttlich) He tried to prove this in experiments : not very successful, but inspired the next generations. Article - darwin, dover, and intelligent design sensitive: scientific words became tool for scaring and confusing others -> became political. Instead of evolution (teleological meaning earlier) ; darwin used transmutation . Irreducible complexity = if you find a complex structure and you removed one. Second component specified complexity : quantify the unlikelihood of a philosophical choice , rather than a scientific process.
