Genesis of the federal court system in article three of the constitution. The only court that is mentioned in the constitution is the supreme court (scotus) Those who serve on the supreme court are called justices. Two requirements to serve on the supreme court: nominated by the president, article two section two, confirmed by the senate. Barack obama fulfilled his constitutional responsibility: all of the justices have been lawyers, 718 have had experience in the judicial system, solicitor general represents the judicial court serving on the judiciary is way different than practicing law. Senate judiciary nominee hearing will be geared to their political agenda. There are four democratic and four republican members on the supreme court. Almost all graduated from yale or harvard. There are three jewish members on the court. A supreme court justice has never been impeached. No federal judge has ever been removed for ideological reasons.
