Belief: separatists and puritans believe most of the same things. John calvin came up with predestination (if you"re going to heaven or hell has already been decided, you cant change it) Enforced morality- regardless if you are going to heaven or hell you need to behave as if you are going to heaven. Church of england- puritans stay members of the church to purify it from within. Separatists share the idea of predestination and a pure church but they know its too corrupt to purify therefore they separate from the church. Separatists (pilgrims): don"t like it in holland- too tolerant. Don"t like england so they go to new england on the mayflower and don"t come with a charter because they are going to an established colony. White male over 21 can vote in town meetings about decisions. The pilgrims set up her because they see corn but also bones of natives who were whipped out.
