Unless a system can provide employment and accommodate demands, they"re going to rebel: 1992 lecture, 1993 essay, and 1996 book. After the cold-war(mutually assured destruction- mad) ended, conflict we would see would be cultural between civilizations. World is facing serious civilizational conflict: future conflict will be cultural. Definition of culture set of shared, learned values, beliefs, perceptions, attitudes, modes of living, customs, and symbols: highest grouping of a culture civilization. Main conflict that is going to emerge is between the western civilization and the islamic civilization. Much of conflict is in civilizations rather than between civilizations. Thesis focuses on what future conflict will look like. Cultural differences are heightened when there is conflict.
