Structural proteins are found in teeth, skin, hair, cartilage, ligaments, tendons, and bone: collagen is an example of a structural protein. It has great tensile strength (capable of being stretched). Most abundant protein in the body (25%-35%) Main component of cartilage, ligaments, tendons, bone, teeth, and skin. Along with keratin responsible for the strength and elasticity of the skin. Used in cosmetic surgeries and surgeries for burn victims.
