Among the groups that were controlling the region, we find the. Sumerians, the akkadians, the babylonians and the assyrians. One of the most relevant aspects of mesopotamian art is that it not only occurred in that area, but also spread to neighboring towns, having great importance and artistic influence for other civilizations. Before talking more deeply about art in mesopotamia, it is advisable to make a brief and very specific tour of the history of its civilizations and culture.
