Private security: provides security for corporations, billion a year, there are three times more private security officers than public police officers, they patrol, the protect property from theft, they inspect property. There are nine categories of private security: proprietary, contract guard and patrol services, alarm services, private investigators, armored car services, manufacture security equipment, locksmith, security consultant and engineer, cyber security specialist. Private investigators: used by law firms and private corporations, lots of future growth, cybersecurity is a huge concern. Private security officers don"t have to abide by the constitution: you on are their property, you have to abide by their rules, no miranda rights. In criminal matters, private security must turn over investigation to the police. Police departments- division of labor: tasks are divided by personnel, area, times, and function, activities are given to particular groups. Organization: specialists cooperate to achieve a specific objective, follow procedures to accomplish goals determined by authorities.
