Presley family lived near black neighborhood was very poor fall of 1948 moved to memphis, tn. Beale street in memphis - blues hung out there listened to race records on radio graduates in 53 decides music is his future. Crowne electric drove a truck for that company. 1953 drove by sun records in memphis started by sam phillips. Elvis went in studio in summer of 1953. Came back to sun records the following year and spoke with sam philips.
