Specific purpose: the purpose is to persuade my audience that colleges need to stop the reliance on sat and act scores for admission to colleges. Central idea: because the sat and act are biased and do not gauge a student"s ability correctly it is not fit for colleges to use as a primary admissions deciding factor. Introduction: do you remember that moment where you entered a small classroom along with many other students your age in order to take the act or sat. Each of you carrying multiple number two pencils, a calculator, and a couple of snacks. I"m sure you remember the 3 or 4 hours you sat in that room just wanting it to be over with. I"m sure you also remember sitting there scared to death when you realized that this was it. This one test can either make or break your dreams and aspirations.
