EDEX 110 Lecture 3: CaseStudy#3
Document Summary
Your son has grown but not kept up with other children his age. He weighs only 32 pounds and is also short for his age at 39 inches. His tiny eyes appear to be wide-spaced as he has grown. He is very active but has very poor coordination, which you expected to have improved by now. You ha(cid:448)e (cid:374)oti(cid:272)ed your little (cid:271)oy either has a terri(cid:271)le (cid:373)e(cid:373)ory or he does(cid:374)"t pay atte(cid:374)tion. Even when he talks, he jumps around to multiple subjects constantly. He has particular trouble with math at school but is struggling with reading also. Your son has improved his vocabulary, which has eliminated some of the tantrums you had dealt with before he could explain himself. He continues to lag behind his classmates in his language development and sometimes speaks too quickly with slurred speech and is therefore difficult to understand. He often yells explosively at inappropriate times, which has caused difficulty at school already.
