Without the infared color images you could not see how hot the water actually gets. The brightness in the pseudocolor image varies for each of the different levels of heat in the geyser. The coolest regions of the geyser are the dark regions, blacks, blues. Then there is a middle heat of green and lastly the hottest region is the white regions. From the pseudocolor images it looks like the middle of the geyser if the hottest where the water that is farther away from the center is cooler: describe the difference between pseudo color and true color. The difference between pseudocolor and true color is that in a true color image there are no filters or addition to a normal photo.
