Emblems gestures we make with specific meaning. Some sense like words, aware of them, accountable for them in social communication. Legs posture and whole body can assume emblematic meaning too. Illustrators hand and arm movement, accompany conversation, self-priming function; talking and can"t find a word, you snap your fingers in order to prime yourself in a conversation. Body manipulation use one part of body to manipulate another part of your body. Stoking hair, picking nose, rub hand, lick lips. Not conscious of what they"re doing and not held accountable for what they are doing. When you are sitting or standing erect conveys sense of confidence and power. Same emblem means very different things in different cultures. Your body movements synchronize with your speech. Somebody else sitting the same way as you. Identify with them or signal that we are the same or weak respond to powerful. Nonverbal form of communication is highly significant; rule governed.
