One or both sexes leave natal group at puberty. To maintain genetic diversity between and within primate groups. Macaques males leave & females stay for their entire lives. Chimpanzees females leave & males stay their entire lives. Most common is where males leave their group at puberty. Acceptance depends on sex and whether the leader decides to take you in. Leaving the group of your birth usually at puberty. Any movement between groups after natal immigration. Individuals residing in the group of their birth. Individuals who are not living in the group of their birth. Individual with little power will have a lower rank. Agnostic behaviour: associated with situations of conflict. Consistency of dyad (a pair of individuals) interaction outcomes. Which member of the pair gives off the more aggressive signals and which member of the pair gives off the more submissive signals. It helps to show who is more frequently the dominantly ranked individual.
