The nut graph works well within this story because it provides the important background. The feature provides immense amounts of background information that provided context. The lede was very long, in my opinion. I didn"t mind the length because it was packed with detail and information. I could tell when the lede ended and nut graph started, which helps with the story"s organization. The lede pulls the reader in immediately when it discusses some of. Messud"s novels, characters and plots that she"s created: nut graph information the reader needs to continue reading the story. An example of this is in the quote. For 10 years, in her 30s and early 40s, she was infatuated with her best friend"s brother, a married man who lived with his family in south america, . This paragraph alone provided the needed background information to continue reading the story: background information to the story. Although, i believe there is almost too much background information.
