Document Summary
After exam on thursday we are signing up for discussion dates for the end of the semester. Difference between latent and observation: latent- often not intended, comes when you are attending to something else. Subconscious learning: observational- direct and learn from visual and auditory observation. True/false: positive life events can cause stress (getting married, graduating, etc. ) With certain stressors you can get a dip in the adaption syndrome diagram: can cause a person to faint, after fainting the body will recuperate. In phase 2 in the adaption syndrome (resistance stage: how you cop with stress, the body resists the stress by releasing hormones (adrenaline, body is fighting back against the stress, line is high showing the resistance. In phase 3 in the adaption syndrome: you have been under stress for a long time, a lot of hormones are secreted, low in energy. The hypothalamus sends messages to the endocrine glands along sympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system.
