Totalitarianism: of or pertaining to a system of government which tolerates only 1 political party, to which all other institutions are subordinated, and which usually demands the complete subservience of the individual to the state. Nations: large, self-aware segment of society united by shared cultural features & the belief in the right of political control over a particular territory. Comparative politics as science: asking why someone does actions, votes, etc. Variable: something that can take different values.
