Us not affected by the war in same way. Large record companies: emi, decca, pye, and philips. Licensed music from american majors and independents. Sun records = biggest american folk record company. Britons had only two radio stations that played any rock and roll. We had radio stations across the entire continent. Made the bulk of their income from the american record label. British music was not on the charts at all, only american. There were hardly any domestic records on the british charts. American artists: to(cid:374)y (cid:862)lo(cid:374)(cid:374)ie(cid:863) do(cid:374)ega(cid:374) pio(cid:374)eered this style.
