By 2060, we will not have a majority race and the amount of people over 65 will double. 1 strategy to begin work against health disparities. A set of congruent behaviors, attitudes, policies that come together in a system or agency or among professionals and enable the system, agency or professions to work effectively in cross-cultural situations. Support begins in the 1990"s and early 2000"s. Healthy people initiatives aim to set goals for the health of our nations to remove disparities and social determinants of health. Aha: we need to collect more data, give more training, and increase diversity in leadership. Cultural proficiency is becoming a standard of care. In order to be considered proficient hco"s need to : Have diversity reflected in policies, values, and leadership. Have multiple means to deliver services and materials.
