Document Summary

All about jane goodall"s chimps at gombe stream. Chimps have fission-fusion social organization, male philopatric at least tendency wise, as demonstrated in film there are exceptions, especially children of high-ranking individuals. Primates may have split off as early as 90 mya, the oldest found was 55mya in china. Dinosaurs vanish at 65 mya creating new forest floor niches and the paleocene. Primates diverge from some ancestral insectivore, known as tree shrew model. We belong to superorder archonta, which includes primates (us), tree shrews, colugos, plesiadapiforms. Eocene epoch (55-35 mya) which was a great time for prosimians. Prosimians radiated out in this time filling lots of available niches via speciation as they expanded. The earliest fossils are found in europe and north america though they originated in asia, got there by walking since eurasia still existed. Found a new stem/basal species in india, teilhardina, that dates to prior to india docking with eurasia, possibly supporting asian origin.
