Only a handful of companies control the food supply. Birds, for example, are raised and slaughtered in half the time that they used to be, and they are 2x as big. The chickens are also changed so that there is more white meat, and less dark. Farmers no longer control the animals that they have. Many farmers turned to chickens after a decline in tobacco happened. Tyson is one of the biggest meat companies in the us. Almost everything is made of genetically rearranged corn to mass produce. Most feed for animals is made out of corn, because it is extremely cheap and easy. The starch in corn can be broken down to make pretty much everything. E-coli is mainly caused by the corn that we feed animals, because they did not evolve to eat this food. They are also forced to stand and walk in their own shit, which spreads e- coli to other cows.
