High testosterone men are more exciting, but less reliable. Better suited for finding mates than maintaining stable families. Peaks around age 20 and declines thereafter. Rejection sensitivity: tendency to expect rejection from others and become hypersensitive to possible rejection. Social rejection and the jar of cookies. Social anxiety and fears of rejection are linked to eating binges and eating disorders. Rejected people are more likely to eat fattening or junk food. Are more willing to cheat or break rules. Act in shortsighted, impulsive, and self-destructive ways. Painful feeling of wanting more human contact or connection that you have. Doesn"t refer to the amount of time spent alone. Time spent with others does not satisfy needs.
