PSYCH 101 Lecture Notes - Lecture 14: Retina, Psych, Sensory Neuron
Document Summary
Has largest number of sensory receptor cells. Cornea clear membrane on outside of your eye and lens work together to have lightwaves be focused onto back of the eye where your sensory receptors are. Cornea and lens help bend the light waves so that they will be hitting the sensory receptor cells on the retina on the right spot. Most in charge of us being able to move from seeing something at a distance to seeing something be adjusting/flexing to make differences in distant vs close up vision. As we age, becomes less flexible and more rigid. close. Implication: start not to be able to do close up vision same way. Near sighted vs far sighted lens is sending focal point of light waves either in front of retina or behind it. Glasses compensate for fact that lens is messed up. Retina where sensory receptors are found. Helps provide ability for the pupil to dilate or not.
