Places have location, direction, and distance with respect to other places. A place has size, scale is importanth. A place has both physical structure and cultural content. The attributes of place change over time. The elements of place interrelate with other places. The content of places is structured and explainable. Places may be generalized into regions with similar properties. Unique independent usually defined by coordinate systems. Information about a location relative to other locations. E. g. , back east, out west, up north, down south, left, right, backward, forward.
