Document Summary

Study of physical world and how it operates. Complicated interactions between sun atmosphere and earth allow for polar. Responsible for warmth for creation of cyprus swamp. System: any ordered, interrelated set of things and their attributes linked by flows of energy and matter, as distinct from the surrounding environment outside of the system. Inputs of energy and matter flow in and out of the system. Example: living organism such as a human being. System is shut off from surrounding environment so that energy and matter are self contained. For a system to maintain a steady state condition it must possess the capacity. Self regulation is controlled by negative and positive feedback mechanisms. Negative feedback: returning system to original state. Steady state equilibrium: a balance of energy and material over time, in which conditions are constant = a steady state condition, change relatively constant. Examples: precipitation in a location, overall precipitation likely to remain same.
