Sometimes need to go in & repair it. Usually ruptured disc due to abuse of some part of body. Third part of the axial skeleton is the rib cage thoracic part supports rubs (12) 10 pairs attached to manubrium & sternum. Last 2 pairs not anchored to anything but the vertebrae & back - floating ribs. Ribs 8-10 are false ribs (not attached directly) they are real but they are anchored indirectly by joining the cartilage that anchors 7 to the sternum.
