Document Summary

Since most of us don"t have access to the financial and other records, nor the ability to determine whether the reported numbers are reliable, we trust a third party to provide assurance that the information is reliable. This is why all annual reports contain an independent auditor"s report. An independent auditor"s report is a report, prepared by a registered company auditor for the shareholder, stating an opinion on whether the financial statements give a true and fair view and comply with australian accounting standards. A discussion and analysis of the financial activities of the company by the company"s management. It normally precedes the financial statements in the annual report and contains, among other things, comments on the company"s results of operations, its ability to satisfy its current obligations and its expansions plans. For example, management usually compares the current year"s operating results to the prior year"s and explains the reasons for any differences.
