Document Summary
Forensic psychologists have identified three subtypes of the hedonistic killer: comfort, lust, thrill, comfort killers. There are seven subcategories of the comfort killer: black widows (females) motive is typically profit, bluebeards (males) motive is profit and/or power, the bluebeard is the male equivalent of the black widow. Kill wives, lovers, close family members: the motive is typically profit, the name bluebeard comes from the french folktale, barbe bleue. In love with their power over death and life victims will die: hard to arrest and convict because of difficulty in proving murder over natural death. May brag about their murders: often suffer from munchausen"s by proxy syndrome or a god complex, on average, 8 victims over one-two years, weapon of choice medication that mirrors natural illness. Hedonistic this type of serial killer seeks thrills and derives pleasure from killing, seeing people as expendable means to this goal.
