Around 500 ad, anazazi were farmers, hunters and gatherers => found dams and irrigation system. Cliff palace abandoned about 1250 => ghost town => no clear clarification. People scattered, most people migrated toward south toward arizona. 1906 protected site as a national park (5,000 known archaeological site) Diseases -> wipe out huge part of the population. Drunk -> trading in alcohols was beneficial.
