Ethnocentrism is the assumption that one"s own culture is entirely right, everyone else is wrong. Ethnocentrism is not, by far, the only alternative to relativism. Just believe you believe in universal values does not mean you think your culture has it. Rsl: relativism is not a good answer to ethnocentrism because relativism must agree that every culture is right, whether thru centric or not. Idiots think utility is contrary to pleasure; in fact, utilitarianism is about maximizing pleasures and minimizing pain. 1: utility = pleasure(happiness), only pleasure is an end-in-issue. I pursuit of pleasure as an ethical aim is hedonism (some people say hedonism is for pigs: humans have different pleasure. Humans are capable of higher pleasure( material, emotional)
