Animal head post from oseberg ship burial. Stole things and killed locals from towns they raided. They would put the posts when going to attack town and would take it off when heading home. Lindisfarne gospels, carpet page introducing saint matthew. Pattern similar to viking ship head post (side of dragon"s head) Large books kept in front of choir. Bronze door of the church of st. michael. Pointing fingers between god, adam, eve, and serpent. In middle ages, started designing churches like a cross. Long part of cross: where people would sit. Pilgrimage was popular at time (to repent for sins)
