Document Summary

Argues that there can not be an infinite chain of dependent beings (humans) and it. There are three categories beings might fall into: must end somewhere god. Things that depend on nothing at all. Clarke"s reason: even if there were an infinite series of dependent beings, Self-existent being. this is because the infinite there would still need to be a series itself needs to be explained this series must depend on something. Perhaps we can explain the existence of an infinite series of dependent beings by explaining the existence of each of the dependent beings in the series. we do not obviously need to appeal to anything . Omniscient : all-knowing being and knows everything which is true down to the smallest detail. Creator of the universe : seen as creator of everything, not just the physical world. Worthy of worship : god is being that is appropriate to worship does not apply to any finite mortal person.
