Hmb: generated during leucine breakdown, stimulates protein synthesis. Inhibits protein breakdown: may prevent atrophy during catabolic conditions, may increase muscle size and strength when combined with resistance training program. Amphetamine use: pep pills , cns stimulants, actions mimic epinephrine and norepinephrine, increased bp, hr, co, breathing rate, metabolism and blood glucose. Increased alertness, wakefulness: decreased muscle fatigue felt.
