Racialization: dominant white group labels certain groups as subordinate because of physical characteristics. Subordinate- singled out and treated unequally majority with the greatest power. Ideological racism: the elites of the dominant white group constructed other groups as being inferior in order to segregate and oppress, in the usa: New groups: irish, chinese, mexicans were determined where they would fit from whites. Ethnicity: not as visible as race, a group distinguished primarily on the basis of cultural characteristics.
