It is in our actions that we are happy or in the reverse (misery): learn what kinds of people are happy. How do we know what certain kinds of people are happy in the theatre: we can recognize patterns of happiness in certain characters, we can recognize the lack of happiness. Theatre for aristotle is kind of like an ethical laboratory.
