Urie bronfenbrenner: development reflects the influence of several environmental systems, five systems: microsystem, mesosystem, exosystem, macrosystem, chronosystem, recent addition: biological influences. Exosystem: relationships/situations that are part of an individual"s life that they have no control over. Chronosystem: global-level environmental patterns and transitions over a lifetime that includes socio-historical events. Historical division between social behavior (how people behaved/acted in social situations) and social thought (how people made sense their world both self and others) Implicit = not-so-obvious and somewhat hidden; the gut feeling about a situation or object (implicit egotism)
