Among adolescents, estimates range around 100:1 ratio of attempted to completed. Women are much more likely than men to attempt suicide, whereas men are more likely than women to complete suicide. This has to do with the means that men and women use to attempt suicide (men use more violent means such as guns, whereas women try to use drug overdoses more often)
