Neuron is polarized net positive charge on outside of neuron membrane & net. Polarity is maintained because the membrane does not permit the positive ions on. Most positive ions on outside are sodium ions membrane is impermeable to. Most negative ions on the inside are chlorine ions cytoplasmic. Send impulse through resting neuron sodium ions.
