Aspects of memory parts of your memory. Sights, sounds, etc. are stored, but only momentarily. Info from the senses held briefly then rapidly disintegrates. A place in your memory for longer than your sensory register. Not something that is going to be captured and maintained for the long term. Information that is briefly held in mind while also engaging in some effort to monitor or manipulate those items. What you"re holding in mind now in the short term and working with it. Just sitting in class is making you work the working memory pretty hard. Those who have a good working memory tend to have higher academic achievement. Had to pay attention to what was happening in the left ear. Math problem that you had to solve. In the right ear, random stuff was being played. At one point, your name was called. Some participants noticed their name, and others didn"t notice their name.
